Tweneboah
I'm Stephen Tweneboah, a mechanical engineer working across mechanical design, piping engineering, robotics, and manufacturing. I've developed complex engineering models using advanced CAD and computational tools, with hands-on experience in structural analysis, pipe stress evaluation, and mechanical system design.
Highly motivated and results-oriented mechanical engineer with three years of experience in mechanical design, robotics and manufacturing. Skilled in designing complex models using advanced CAD tools and with proven leadership in managing teams execute complex projects. Committed to developing efficient and cost-effective systems with a focus on structural and functional optimisation. Passionate about exploring the intersection of control systems and machine learning/deep learning in robotics.
Relevant coursework: Machine Design, Production Planning and Control, Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics, Electrical Engineering Machines, Mechatronics, Computer Programming for Engineers, Vibrations. Independent coursework: Advanced Robot Operating System Programming (Udemy), Introduction to Python (Coursera).
Experience
Mechanical / Piping Engineer
- Design piping routes, piping supports, and structural members for oil and gas projects.
- Develop piping isometric drawings, weld maps, and fabrication documentation for piping systems.
- Design and model piping systems in accordance with applicable ASME standards and project specifications.
- Perform piping layout and support design to ensure structural integrity, accessibility, constructability, and efficient system routing.
Product Design Engineer
- Spearheaded rapid prototyping for product development, ensuring quick turnaround of design iteration.
- Designed, modelled, and assembled a cycloidal gearbox for a collaborative robot.
- Led the team in brainstorming and implementing the 6-DOF structure of the collaborative robot.
- Implemented robotic control systems using ROS, Gazebo, and MoveIt for a custom 6-DOF 3D-printed collaborative robot.
- Fabricated the tested the last prototype of the FAMAROBOT to start operation
Projects
Famarobot — Solar-Powered Seed Planting Robot
3Farmate Robotics · Mechanical Engineering Intern · 2021
Led fabrication of the transmission model for a solar-powered seed-planting robot, applying standardization, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and failure-prevention principles alongside the Product Design Engineer.
IncLift — Inclined Lift Seat for PWDs
KNUST Capstone Project
- Designed and fabricated an inclined lift seat for persons with disabilities, exploiting the reduced force requirements of inclined planes.
- Led a team of 7 through structural, fatigue, and functional analysis to identify design flaws in existing solutions.
- Conducted iterative testing to determine the optimal angle of inclination.
- Achieved a 3x speed advantage over existing solutions — 20.5s vs. 61.5s operating time — at a 250 kg (550 lb) carrying capacity.
Smart Grid Test Bed — Hardware Modules
Stevens Institute of Technology · Mechanical Designer · 2025–Present
Designed and tolerance-checked hardware modules for a smart grid test bed, iterating designs through 3D-printed prototypes and selecting materials suited to real-world application conditions.
6 DOF Cobot
3Farmate Robotics · Product Design Engineer · May 2024 – Dec 2024
Designed and assembled a custom six-degree-of-freedom collaborative robot, combining mechanical design, a cycloidal gearbox, 3D-printed components, and robotic control with ROS, Gazebo, and MoveIt.
